Mena Alexandera Suvari is an American actor, model and designer. Her birth date was 13 February 1979. Soon after her first job as a model she soon transitioned into acting after appearing as a guest on 90's television shows such as Boy Meets World and High Incident. The film debut came in 1997's drama Nowhere. Her performances on American Beauty - for which she was nominated to get the BAFTA Award - and American Pie and American Pie, which earned her greater attention as she stepped into more prominent roles. She's appeared alongside American Pie's co-star Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) and then played the main character in Sugar & Spice (2001). Her appearances were in the 2002 independent drama Spun and the 2004 thriller feature Trauma. In addition, she was a part of the HBO the drama Six Feet Under. The series was a hit during 2004. In 2005 the Screen Actors Guild honored her as one of the best actors. In 2008 she was cast in a series of movies such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh as well as the adaptation film to The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been a model for Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she's been in a variety of blogs and magazines, including Vogue. She's been an advocate for and champion to the African Medical and Research Foundation. She also is active on the issue of women's empowerment and is associated with groups that support breast cancer awareness and women's rights and the End Violence Against Women Campaign.
